We all view our reality through a lens of our experiences. Think of how astronauts have described the profound effect seeing the Earth from orbit has had on them. Each of us have those moments and many others each day. We just need to recognize them for what they are. Sitting here in New Mexico, I’m reminded of how this place is viewed by so many. True; you could see it as a dead, barren land, devoid of beauty. However, if you look a little closer, you can see the blue and green marble in every plant. In places like this or the true deserts of the world, every plant and animal becomes something so precious that it must be protected. Places like this remind me all beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We just have to know where to look for it.
