I absolutely love traveling by state highways and back roads. Today I find myself at the old Dalton Gang Hideout. While walking through the tunnel they built between their house and barn, I can almost feel the anticipation in the air from the ones who would have used it in haste. The house itself is small and unassuming. There’s absolutely nothing to make it noteworthy to anyone driving by (except for the signs currently plastered around town).
It’s interesting; even in today’s world of interstate highways, air travel, and high speed internet, this place is tucked away in a quiet corner of Kansas. It would have been so easy to drive right by it. You really never know what you might find until you slow down and take a back road.
